However unfashionable or unwanted Love songs are or have become - my album is a collection of love songs. But real love songs, love songs that come from almost 20 years of being with someone, love songs in which every word is honest, true and meant. When my last band broke up and i decided to try one last time to write an album, without producers, managers, labels or bandmates and without having to write for what i thought other people wanted to hear or expected to hear. I decided that I would never again write a false song or false word. I decided that if this was the last album i would make, then it should be about the greatest thing i have in my life and that is 'Her', 'Us', Our Life, the Home, the constant love of someone and not the instant, the everyday struggles and triumphs and not the imagined epic. I realised, so called normal life, my normal life is precious everyday, and so deserves songs to be written about it. However overly romantic this sounds, every sound and every word on this album is written for Her, a woman who has given me everything. This album is me trying to give something of that everything back.
